Inhalation injury after a landmine explosion: a case report

Blast injuries are divided into four classes, and inhalation a quaternary class of blast injuries. An injury can be critical to the patient due possibility related complications, such as airway obstruction resulting from upper edema pneumonia. Once diagnosed, an should treated with early intubation, aerosol therapy, antibiotics soon possible. We suspect this in circumstances involving fire especially bomb attacks military setting. Antipersonnel landmines designed damage soldier by amputating leg cause injuries, but their power is limited lower extremity. However, we found victim whose had been amputated antipersonnel landmine. As suspected injury, intubated preserve his started acetylcysteine/heparin therapy. The also was proper for right lung pneumonia that developed sequela injury. could extubate without any complications on third day intensive care, after which transferred general ward active rehabilitation. This report presents first known case landmine explosion.
